Short-term funding and liquidity management
Highly active on the money market
KfW ensures the liquidity of the entire KfW Group via the global money and capital markets. KfW is one of the world's most active players in the money market, which serve short-term borrowing and are important for liquidity management for the entire KfW Group.
Principles for Responsible Investment (“PRI”)
KfW holds financial assets for group-wide management of liquidity through a liquidity portfolio, for which it invests exclusively in fixed-income securities with a good credit rating (investment grade). When selecting investments for the liquidity portfolio, KfW considers the issuers’ sustainability assessment based on environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria in addition to their credit rating.
As one of the first signatories to the UN PRI, and given diminishing resources and climate change, KfW feels duty bound to develop sustainable investment. In addition to managing its own liquidity portfolio as a responsible investor, KfW has maintained dialogue with issuers on the subject of responsibility on the capital market for many years.
