Tunisia – a country on the move
As one of the few democracies of the Arab world, Tunisia is a role model for other countries in the region. After the turn-overs during the Arab Spring, a new constitution was adopted and initial economic reforms introduced. The system is still young and fragile, and for this reason it is even more important to stabilise democracy by safeguarding and promoting prosperity, employment and the environment. This can be achieved, for example, by funding SMEs such as Gourmandise, financing the country’s first solar power plant or protecting the Mediterranean coast from the effects of climate change.
