KfW Capital: Stefan Wintels new Chair of the Supervisory Board
Stefans Wintels, Chief Executive Officer of KfW Group, was unanimously elected to be the Chair of the Supervisory Board for KfW Capital GmbH & Co. KG. The election took place today, as planned, at the annual closing meeting of the voluntary Supervisory Board of KfW's 100% subsidiary in Frankfurt. "KfW Capital is making an important contribution to strengthening and further developing the VC ecosystem. I am pleased to support KfW Capital and its Managing Directors Dr Jörg Goschin and Alexander Thees in this task, together with my colleagues from the Supervisory Board," said Stefan Wintels, Chief Executive Officer of KfW Group.
In addition to Stefan Wintels, the KfW Capital Supervisory Board is composed of the following five members:
- Dr Fritz Becker, entrepreneur/investor and member of Augsburger Aktienbank AG Supervisory Board and the DEKA Investment GmbH Supervisory Board. In the past, Dr Becker was CEO of HQ Trust GmbH and Harald Quandt Holding GmbH.
- Dr Sabine Hepperle, Director-General for SME Policy at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (her responsibilities include venture capital financing, the promotion of start-ups, business foundations and company successions).
- Dr Judith Kölzer-Söding, founder and CEO of the holding company SOVAGE GmbH, which focuses on special situations and growth. In the past, Dr Kölzer-Söding held various posts at Dr Förster AG, CVC Capital and Goldman Sachs International.
- Dr Stefan Peiß, member of the KfW Group Executive Board, Chief Risk Officer of KfW, and Deputy Chair of the KfW Capital Supervisory Board.
- Reinhard Wolpers, Head of the subdivision Financial Market Stability and Debt Management at the Federal Ministry of Finance (his responsibilities include financial market stability, government bond markets, and bank supervision and restructuring).
The KfW Capital Supervisory Board will generally meet four times a year. Its duties include monitoring KfW Capital's business activities, approving larger investments, and providing advice for strategic issues.
