Access to credit varies considerably depending on the purpose
Access to credit varies considerably depending on the purpose. Investment loans for machinery and equipment and for the acquisition of real estate are easiest to obtain. By contrast, accessing credit for digitisation and projects outside Germany is significantly more difficult. Even more difficult is obtaining loans to finance inventories, working capital and intangible assets. This ranking is determined by the degree of difficulty with which external lenders can assess the probabilities of a project's success and the possibilities of applicant enterprises to provide collateral from within the project to be financed.
