Corona intensive care

Right at the start of the new decade, the years 2020 to 2022 will go down in KfW history as the 'Corona virus years'. At the same time, KfW continues to develop into a digital transformation and promotional bank for a climate-neutral future.

Further information

During the coronavirus pandemic, KfW once again makes history and cobbles out a crisis programme overnight, which becomes the largest special programme in its history – KfW coronavirus aid. In doing so, it supports around 150,000 small, medium-sized and large companies in Germany with liquidity and is thus helping them to get through the crisis, proving the value of a funding system developed over many decades for our society, especially in times of crisis. At the same time, the programme poses a challenge to the bank’s financial, human and technical resources.

Today, KfW is implementing its own transformation agenda to better support the transformation of the economy and society.
