Over the coming 20 years, the number of people of working age will contract more strongly than the German population as a whole – a severe impediment to growth. Without counter measures we estimate growth potential by 2030 of just 0.2 %.

This trend is not inevitable. Germany can avoid this demographic pitfall by implementing a range of targeted measures. The key is to focus on many influencing factors at the same time.
