KfW Credit Market Outlook March 2016

Corporate lending lull continues

While banks enjoy solid increases in lending for housing, new corporate lending to the remaining segments of the real economy decreased in the final quarter of 2015. The outlook remains cloudy, despite the ECB's recent measures. KfW Research expects the decline on the corporate lending market to continue in the first half of 2016. Corporate loan demand for investment outside the housing sector will not strengthen until confidence in the global economy picks up in the course of the year.
