Frankfurt am Main, 23 October 2025 - KfW Group is joining the “Partnership for Homeland Security and General Defence”. Together with its subsidiaries KfW IPEX-Bank and KfW Capital, KfW signed the letter of intent with the Regional Territorial Command for the state of Hesse in Frankfurt. The aim is to deepen the exchange between the economy and the federal armed forces in Germany and together contribute to strengthening social resilience and crisis resistance in Germany.

KfW’s Chief Human Resources Officer Bernd Loewen, KfW IPEX-Bank's Managing Director Belgin Rudack and KfW Capital's Managing Director Alexander Thees signed the document in the presence of Brigadier General Holger Radmann from the German armed forces.

“As a bank committed to responsibility, we also engage in fostering the safety and security of our country in the broadest possible sense – at economic, social and institutional level,”

explains Bernd Loewen, Chief Human Resources Officer at KfW.

“This means that as a general rule, businesses in the security and defence sector can also benefit from our promotional programmes. We always appraise individual financing projects in an open and unbiased manner.”

Brigadier General Holger Radmann emphasises:

“With KfW, the German armed forces are gaining a strong partner that offers the prospect of sustainable economic development. Collaborations like this demonstrate that the German armed forces and the economy go hand-in-hand.”

KfW has always supported its employees with their duties as military reservists. The partnership includes the official release of employees of KfW and its subsidiaries who are members of the military reserves, thereby making a proven practice an integral part of the cooperation.

In joining the partnership, KfW is now part of a growing number of nearly 400 employers in the state of Hesse who actively support homeland security. KfW is thus reaffirming its commitment to the safety and security of Germany and the promotion of social cohesion in challenging times.
