Dr Dominik Steinkühler appointed new as Head of Group Development and Economics

Dr Dominik Steinkühler (44) will become the new Head of Group Development and Economics on 1 September 2025. Dr Susanne Maurenbrecher, the current Head of the department, has been in the role since November 2023 and will become General Manager of KfW on 1 October.

At KfW, Dominik Steinkühler will be assuming responsibility for areas including corporate strategy, sustainability, strategic planning and management, innovation and the economics research department. Since 2022, he has been a partner of the growth capital firm Vorwerk Ventures, where his achievements included setting up the Climate Investment department, which he has managed from the outset.

Prior to his time at Vorwerk Ventures, he held positions such as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of the insurance company Friday Insurance, member of the executive board for corporate clients at Commerzbank, company founder and strategy consultant for the Boston Consulting Group. Dominik Steinkühler has a PhD in business administration from RWTH Aachen University and studied at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management.
