KfW and DBS to intensify and extend their partnership – KfW becomes main sponsor of the German national para athletics team

KfW and the National Paralympic Committee Germany (DBS) are further expanding their successful cooperation. KfW extends its partnership with the DBS which started in 2021. In addition, it will also be the main sponsor of the German national para athletics team in 2025 and 2026 .

The partnership marks an important step for the promotion of paralympic sports in Germany. It increases the visibility of para athletics, reinforces the structures and opens up new perspectives. This cooperation is intended to enable sporting successes, as well as to provide social impetus – for greater recognition and participation of people with disabilities.

By making this commitment as the new main sponsor, KfW is sending out a strong signal for lived inclusion and the strengthening of para sports in Germany. KfW’s financial support enables the DBS to put in place central training and preparation measures and to increase public awareness of the athletes.

emphasises Stefan Kiefer, Secretary General of the DBS.

“Continuing and deepening our cooperation is a major win for para sports. With KfW on our side, we can further improve the underlying conditions for our athletes and at the same time provide important social impetus."

Both partners already worked together last year to achieve inclusion and equal opportunities. Under the motto “Promoting inclusion – shaping the future”, KfW and the DBS implemented a nationwide campaign to draw attention to the importance of inclusion in sport and work.
