KfW’s Board of Supervisory Directors welcomes the appointment of Katharina Herrmann as General Manager at KfW

Appointment as member of the Executive Board responsible for domestic promotional business planned for April 2023

The KfW Board of Supervisory Directors welcomes Katharina Herrmann’s appointment as General Manager at KfW. The Chair of KfW’s Board of Supervisory Directors, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Dr Robert Habeck, and the Deputy Chair and Federal Minister of Finance Christian Lindner, announced this in a statement following the meeting of the KfW Board of Supervisory Directors on 6 April 2022.

Katharina Herrmann will initially take on the role of General Manager with effect from 8 April 2022. After successfully completing her time as General Manager, Ms Herrmann is due to join KfW’s Executive Board in April 2023 and take over responsibility for domestic promotional business there.

Before joining KfW, Katharina Herrmann worked for many years at ING Group, most recently as Head of Platforms and New Business at ING-DiBa AG in Frankfurt (2018 to the end of 2021) and at the same time as Global Head of Platforms and Beyond Banking at ING Group in the Netherlands (2018 to the end of 2020). Prior to that, Ms Herrmann was a member of the Executive Board of ING-DiBa AG in Frankfurt (2011 to 2017) and Chief Executive Officer of ING-DiBa Direktbank Austria (2007 to 2010). Preceding that, she held various senior marketing positions at ING-DiBa AG in Frankfurt from 1998 onwards.

Katharina Herrmann holds a degree in business administration from Wiesbaden University of Applied Sciences and previously trained as a bank clerk at Nassauische Sparkasse, Wiesbaden.

After her time as General Manager, she is set to generate strong momentum for the digitalisation of KfW’s domestic lending business. With her many years of expertise, Ms Herrmann will be able to make an important contribution in this area.”
