Dr Friederike (Fritzi) Köhler-Geib to become new Chief Economist of KfW Group

Dr Friederike (Fritzi) Köhler-Geib will become the new Chief Economist of KfW Group. The PhD economist will assume her new role on 1 November 2019.

“Dr Köhler-Geib is an internationally recognised economist with a proven expertise in economic policy,” says Dr Günther Bräunig, CEO of KfW Group. “She brings deep and broad experience in international macro and financial economics to the table as well as capital market expertise. She has been working for many years at the intersection of politics and finance. We are looking forward to benefiting from her expertise.”

At KfW, Köhler-Geib will manage the Economics Department (KfW Research) and assume the position of Chief Economist. She has over 17 years of experience at the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and in the financial sector, most recently as Chief Economist for Central America at the World Bank since 2017. Her activities in the field of economic policy advice and economic research focus on Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa. At KfW, Dr Fritzi Köhler-Geib succeeds Dr Jörg Zeuner, who left the bank in spring 2019.
