campus.kfw.de Internet portal

KfW provides information on its rehabilitated buildings and low-consumption new constructions

KfW in its role as a promotional bank supports environmental and climate protection worldwide, while promoting energy efficient construction and refurbishing buildings is a focus of its domestic activities. KfW also sets a good example with its own office buildings by using energy-efficient technologies. The newly revised Internet portal campus.kfw.de shows the inroads KfW is making in Frankfurt from an energy perspective, by using intelligent architecture and innovative energy concepts in its refurbished buildings and low-consumption new constructions.

The campus.kfw.de website has been thoroughly revised due to the integration of KfW's latest building project which will extend into next year ‒ the construction of an office building at the Bockenheimer Landstrasse 104 address in Frankfurt's Westend district.

More specifically the Internet portal provides detailed information on KfW's eight buildings in Frankfurt's Westend district, focusing on their structural design, technical equipment and ecological concepts. Photos and graphics illustrate all of the underlying economic and technical standards that ensure the building complex's ecological footprint is as low as possible.

KfW's headquarters have been in Frankfurt's Palmengartenstrasse street since 1968. The campus has gradually developed over the years into the building complex of eight units that it is today. Nowadays the campus is the workplace of around 4,500 employees of the promotional bank of the German Federal Government and the individual states ("Länder"). One of the world's most eco-friendly office high rises has been located on the campus since 2010 ‒ the KfW West Arcade, which in 2011 won the "Best Tall Building Worldwide Award" of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, Chicago. Its primary energy requirement is well below the average, and thus sets a benchmark for sustainable corporate construction and refurbishment.

Details can be found at campus.kfw.de

Photos of the buildings can be downloaded from KfW's Photo Archive at bildarchiv.kfw.de subject to the relevant terms of use.
