Non-profit enterprises benefit again from the ERP Start-up Loan - StartGeld
On 1 February, KfW will resume the promotion for non-profit enterprises under the ERP Start-up Loan –StartGeld programme. This follows the decision by the German parliament on the ERP Economic Planning Act 2026.
In the future, in addition to commercial companies, all enterprises focused on the public good will also be eligible to apply. This applies to small commercial social enterprises that intend to make profit and to small non-profit enterprises.
As a bank committed to responsibility, KfW specifically supports enterprises that prioritise social aspects in their business model, thereby having a positive impact on society.
The promotional programme gives start-ups, self-employed professionals and new businesses access to a low-interest loan of up to EUR 200,000 up to five years after they started their business activities. KfW assumes 80 per cent of the default risk for the applicant's regular bank. This makes it easier for enterprises to access a loan. Funding is provided for investments and running costs.
