Two new regional programmes from RegioInnoGrowth launched in Hamburg

Two new programmes for innovative start-ups and companies have been launched in Hamburg: “InnoVentureFonds” and “Hamburg InnoGrowth”. A total of EUR 69 million of venture and equity capital is available.

The total funding amount is made up of funds from the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg (EUR 21 million) and funds from the Federal RegioInnoGrowth programme (EUR 48 million). IFB Hamburg groups the funds and passes them on to IFB Innovationsstarter GmbH and Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Hamburg mbH.

RegioInnoGrowth was launched last year by the Federal Government and KfW as a new component in the Future Fund. As elements of RegioInnoGrowth, InnoVentureFonds (IVF) and Hamburg InnoGrowth are to contribute to strengthening Hamburg as a financial and business centre in the future.

Innovative start-ups can receive up to EUR 7 million per company in promotion through the IVF. Social entrepreneurs in Hamburg, i.e. companies and start-ups implementing social innovations, can also receive long-term equity capital through the new promotional offers. You can apply for silent participations from the Hamburg InnoGrowth programme of up to EUR 2.5 million with the Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Hamburg mbH. The increased access to financing follows a central measure of the Hamburg strategy for social entrepreneurship and focuses on ecological, digital and socially innovative business models.
