Brazil: investment suffers strongly during recession
South America's most populous economy is in a deep recession. The decline in capital formation in particular has put downward pressure on growth since the second quarter of 2014. Investment is expected to recover at the same pace as economic output overall, so the forecast is for a constant investment ratio in the years ahead.
