Romania – an attractive location with infrastructure deficits

As an investment location and export destination, Romania has a number of strengths: a balanced economic structure, a highly trained workforce, low wage costs and, with some 20 million inhabitants, South-Eastern Europe's biggest domestic market. The country's EU membership has increased legal certainty and predictability. This has also led to progress in the fight against corruption. Romania's biggest weakness is its underdeveloped transport infrastructure. This problem is being tackled but it will take patience before results can be seen.
