KfW SME Panel 2015
Growing optimism is overcoming weak investment trend
SMEs put an end to cautious investment in 2014 with trust in a sustainable upturn in Germany and Europe boosting enterprises’ confidence. This is confirmed by the KfW SME Panel 2015. The increase in investment is considerable. Loan demand is increasing – proof that monetary policy is making an impact. Turnover has only grown slowly, partly because SMEs recorded another decline in international sales. This brings productivity growth to a halt. Additionally, more enterprises are looking for successors than before. However, the outlook is positive: SMEs are coming out of hiding and are continuing to expand.
