United Kingdom – “political construction sites” create uncertainty
Having won the parliamentary elections, the Conservative Party of the United Kingdom is to call for a referendum on the country’s continued EU membership to be held by 2017. The uncertainty created by this move harbours considerable risks for the UK’s economy, which last year achieved the highest growth rate of the G7 countries. However, the UK’s economic performance is not immaculate. The country is still far from the model of balanced growth it is aspiring to.
