KfW staff restaurant in Frankfurt wins the bronze Marketing.Award for corporate catering

  • “Good Food” wins in the “Concept” category
  • A healthy diet as part of KfW's corporate culture
  • Since the concept was introduced, the percentage of vegetarian dishes has increased from 18.5% to 28%

For its new catering concept “Good Food”, KfW Group is awarded the third prize in the “Concept” category of this year's Marketing.Award for corporate catering, which was presented yesterday in Hanau.

“We are very pleased about the prize. For KfW it is an important part of our corporate culture. Offering balanced and wholesome meals is one way we express our appreciation for our employees. We are particularly proud that the “Good Food” concept was developed by and with the bank's employees. Drawing on current knowledge, our kitchen team combined healthy nutrition with variety and freshness. This not only benefits the workforce, it is also sustainable and innovative,” says Dr Ingrid Hengster, member of KfW Group's Executive Board.

“Good food – delicious and balanced” is the concept of the KfW staff restaurant for healthy meals, which was officially launched in September 2018. The dishes feature seasonal ingredients and are freshly and carefully prepared. The range is not limited to vegetarian dishes, but also includes a variety of meat and fish dishes. There are also low-sugar desserts and fresh salads as well as homemade dressings.

The kitchen team came up with the concept together with the kitchen management and an ecotrophologist, and presented “Good Food” to the KfW employees through lectures, brochures and information stands about healthy nutrition. KfW's younger employees are particularly interested in creative, international and vegetarian dishes. Since the “Good Food” concept was introduced, more and more KfW employees have been eating vegetarian food, accounting for 28% of the total. This means that less meat and fewer meat products are used, which has a lasting effect on the carbon footprint.

The Marketing.Award for corporate catering was presented at the 29th International Management Forum 2019 with the motto “Brainfood for the future” in front of around 300 participants in the Congress Park Hanau. The award honours activities and concepts for corporate catering. It is an initiative of the business magazine gv-praxis and recognises outstanding ideas that have a flagship character for the industry.
