World's Safest Bank Award 2016
In October 2016 the US economic magazine "GlobalFinance" has crowned KfW for already the fifth time in a row as the World's Safest Bank. The magazine's ranking is based on the evaluation of long-term credit ratings from Moody’s, Standard & Poor’s and Fitch as well as the total assets of the banks.
Best Responsible Investor 2016
The internationally renowned journal 'Portfolio Institutionell' has awarded KfW with the portfolio award 2016 as 'Best Responsible Investor'. KfW’s investment strategy has convinced the jury with its transparency and rigour in the field of sustainable investment. KfW contributes to the further development of sustainable investment by investing in 'green bonds' and promoting this subject in public.
CMD Award 2016
Like in the last year, KfW was once more awarded as "Best Overall Issuer" for its activities as bond issuer at the CMD Awards 2016. In addition, for the first time KfW was elected "Best Green Bond Issuer" and "Best Debt Investor Relations" by the information services firm "CMD Portal".
Global Capital Bond Award 2015
KfW won multiple awards at the Global Capital Bond Awards 2015 like already in the last years. Amongst others, KfW’s funding team won the first prize in the category "Most Impressive Agency Funding Team – Explicit Government Guarantee" and as well received the prize "Overall Most Impressive SSA Funding Team". Furthermore, KfW was awarded in the categories "Most Impressive MTN Borrower" and "Overall Most Impressive SRI or Green Bond Issuer" by the internationally renowned magazine "Global Capital".
KangaNews Award 2015
Two of KfW's issuances recently won prices in the scope of the KangaNews Awards 2015. KfW's successful inaugural transaction in the Kauri market was awarded as "Kauri Bond Deal of the Year". The second award was assigned for KfW's green bond in Australian Dollar which was marked as the "Kangaroo Supranational, Sovereign and Agency Bond Deal of the Year".
"European Fund of Southeast Europe" (EFSE)
The "European Fund of Southeast Europe" (EFSE), initiated by KfW, has won the first prize at the G20 Summit. US President Barack Obama and his South Korean counterpart Lee Myung-bak presented the prize to Sylvia Wisniwski, Managing Director of Finance in Motion GmbH (fund advisor). In a worldwide public vote, the innovative fund model for financing small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) received by far the most votes.
CTBUH 2011 Best Tall Building in the World Award
The "West Arcade" building at KfW headquarters in Frankfurt was awarded with the "CTBUH 2011 Best Tall Building in the World Award" of the international Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH). The CTBUH evaluated the design, the technical innovations applied and energy efficiency as well as the building's impacts on the city in which it's located and inhabitants.
Green Building Award
In November 2009 KfW received a "Green Building Frankfurt" architectural award from the City of Frankfurt for two of its office buildings. The jury justified its verdict saying KfW had "set an example for sustainable architecture". The awards were presented for the redevelopment of the "Haupthaus" (Main Building) and for the energy efficient new building of the "Ostarkade" (Eastern Arcade) at the Frankfurt location. In both cases, a comprehensive ecological concept of sustainable building utilisation was implemented through the use of innovative technologies - both in the redevelopment and in the new building - making them prime examples of ecological sustainability and energy efficiency..
For many years KfW has worked hard to make professional careers and family life more compatible for its employees. KfW operates child care facilities, supports individual part-time solutions, home teleworking and flexible working hours, and provides advice through the family service as well as junior managerial positions on a tandem basis. Since 2001 KfW has n been awarded with the certificate "audit berufundfamilie®" for its family friendly staff policy for the sixth time.
Germany's 100 Top Employers
KfW remains a responsible employer who is committed to its employees also during the financial crisis. It does not consider making any employees redundant and in this way prevents the outflow of valuable professional expertise. This practice makes it attractive as a potential employer for job applicants. It has also convinced many junior staff members, who have voted KfW one of Germany's most popular employers.
