Domestic promotion in 2019
A focus on future issues
EUR 43.4 billion was committed to promoting businesses, private clients and municipalities in Germany in 2019 (2018: EUR 46.0 billion). Demand for promotional loans declined overall due to the low interest rate environment and positive financing conditions; however, it differed between programmes. KfW is therefore focusing on issues of particular relevance for the future:
- High demand was recorded for housing promotion with the “Baukindergeld” scheme and the KfW Home Ownership Programme, making a substantial contribution to fostering home ownership in Germany.
- The KfW Entrepreneur Loan to finance SMEs and the KfW Renewable Energy programme were also in high demand.
We think a step ahead when it comes to promotion
