KfW in Europe
In the previous Multiannual Financial Frameworks (MFF), KfW was strengthening the range of services for start-ups and young companies in Germany with the help of EU budget funds from the COSME programme in the ERP Start-up Loan - StartGeld
Together with the European Investment Fund (EIF), we assumed 40% of the credit risk of each of the on-lending financing partners, making it easier for them to lend in favour of SMEs and start-ups.
In addition, KfW supports the implementation of InvestEU within Germany and the EU. KfW Capital for example co-invested in the Female Green Generation Fund together with the EIF. And KfW IPEX Bank co-invested in 50 renewable energy projects in Spain and Portugal alongside the EIB, that was backed by an InvestEU guarantee.
We continue to support the German and European economy with our project and export financings. KfW IPEX Bank participates alongside private financial institutions in the expansion of European infrastructure and projects in the environment and energy sectors, among others. European promotional banks such as the EIB and the EBRD are partners with a similar mandate and aspirations.
