German Supply Chain Act
The German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz) strengthens the global responsibility of German companies to respect human rights and environmental standards. By introducing corporate due diligence obligations, the Act aims to improve the international human rights situation - particularly along supply chains. The supply chain encompasses all of a company's products and services and related activities, both in its own business area and in the business area of its direct and indirect suppliers.
KfW falls within the scope of the law due to its number of employees and has applied the LkSG since 01.01.2023. The Executive Board of KfW has assigned the central records office for monitoring the obligations under the LkSG to the Compliance department.
