The 3-pillar strategy - Issue plans for 2010 - Long-term funding target 2010: approx. EUR 70 - 75 billion

KfWs funding is based on three pillars: Benchmark-Programme, Public Transactions and Private Placements. Target 2010: approximately 70-75 billion euro.

KfW Bankengruppe refinances its lending business almost exclusively in the international capital markets. Its funding is based on three pillars which enable KfW Bankengruppe to offer suitable products to investors worldwide. The actual number and volume of issues launched under the three pillars in 2010 will depend on the developments in the capital market.


Long-term funding as of 31 December 2009: EUR 74.7 billion

Long-term funding by instruments:

Benchmark Bonds / 1st Pillar: 46%, Public Transactions / 2nd Pillar: 37%, Private Placements (incl. loans & CLN): 17%


Long-term funding by currencies:

EUR: 44%, USD: 34%, GBP: 7%, JPY: 4%, Others: 10%
